Amelia Indie Authors is a resource for independent authors working on their writing, publishing and readership. The current site combines new editorial guides with material already restored from the historical Amelia Indie Authors website.
The current site and the former association
The historical site belonged to an author association on Amelia Island, Florida. The team operating this website today is separate from that association. We do not claim that its founders, members or featured authors work with, endorse or provide services through the current site.
Historical articles retain their dates and original credits. References to membership, events, prices or services describe the period in which those texts appeared. New notes and guides are identified as work by the current editorial team.
What we publish now
Our main subjects are writing, publishing, book marketing, author resources and self-publishing. Book translation is one part of that work: it helps an author decide whether an international edition makes sense, which readers to serve and how to judge the result.

The current publisher also shares ownership with Geopapa, a family location app. We have a commercial interest in the product. Our co-op model promotes collaboration, embraces great ideas, nurtures the committed author, and supports them in polishing and publishing great stories.
Our vision is to be so good at what we do that organizations seek us out for speakers and events, and readers look forward to new releases because they trust that any book published via AIA is well worth their time and money.
Collaboration is at the core of our being. AIA started out as a small group of local authors helping each other through creative development, events, online critique partnerships, mutual support and friendly advice.
